Mr. Pinky

This is a soft pastel painting that I did with Gisele Grenier in an online class. I really like how it turned out. I don't like Flamingos, but I like this one.

Work in Progress

I've been working on these eagles for awhile now, just don't seem to get the time to finish them off yet. This is done on suede board with pastels.

First Pastel

This is my first attempt at pastels. So much fun! I loved doing this little tiger cub. It's done on 11 X 14 velour paper. It didn't last long. My neighbor got a cute birthday present. She'd been after some artwork from me and I thought she would enjoy this one.

Mother's Love

This one was painted on Roc Lon fabric. It was done in oils with an acrylic base. From an online class with Gisele Grenier.

Gypsy at Webster Falls

Here's my dog Gypsy. This is a big canvas and done in acrylics. Was a lot of fun to do. And the painting won a contest sponsored by Art By Nature.

This is Sasha

This is my little Border Collie, Sasha. I painted her on a shamois and mounted it within an embroidery hoop. The background was done in acrylics and the dog in oils.

Killian in the Snow

This dogs name was Killian but it looks just like my Gypsy dog. This was done in oils. I enjoyed doing the faux frame in the wood tone.

Another Pet Portrait

This is a little Cocker Spaniel named Shilo. She was done in oils.

First Pet Portrait

I worked on some pet portraits in various mediums. This dog's name was Buddy. This is done in acrylics.

Lily and Licorice

Isn't this a cute one! I painted this for my little brother, Rowdy, who raises sheep and goats. I did it from a photograph, using the techniques I have learned. Ths is a 16 X 20 canvas and the painting is done with acrylics. I really enjoyed doing this one. I thnk it will look good in his farm home.

Desert Glory

Here we have a 16 X 20 canvas painted with acrylics of a lovely desert scene. I learned to create depth in a painting by using value changes. This one is a Jerry Yarnell design. I have one more painting to finish out book one.

Christmas Cards

I've been doing a few Christmas cards with acrylics on the Strathmore canvas cards. I have hopes of painting more and using my own this year as a special Christmas card. Here are the first two. Both are designs by Gisele Grenier.

Evening Shade

Moving along with the Yarnell book challenge. This is from book one and is called Evening Shade. I painted this in acrlics on a 16 X 20 canvas. Yarnell's original was with whiteface cows, but I wanted this for my brother for Christmas because it looks so much like his farm with his Angus cattle. I really enjoyed painting this one and love my little baby under the tree.
